Discover how Supera Pharma and Meta IT implemented SAP S/4HANA to drive scalability, governance, and seamless business expansion.

A partnership for scalability and governance

Supera Pharma partnered with Meta IT to implement SAP S/4HANA, ensuring scalability and robust governance to prepare for future growth. Ranked as the 13th most prescribed pharmaceutical company in its country, according to IQVIA, Supera Pharma aims to break into the top ten in the coming years. To achieve this, the company relies on Meta IT’s expertise to implement SAP S/4HANA and implement Organizational Change Management (OCM) methodologies.

Supera Pharma pioneered a business model focused on promoting and marketing products from its founding companies, Eurofarma and Cristalia, and continues to innovate by seeking new external partnerships. “These external partnerships will allow us to expand our product range in the market,” says Alexandre Augusto Correa, Operations Director at Supera Pharma. To support this expansion, the company sought a robust ERP system that ensures governance, data integrity, and real-time decision-making.

“We started with an in-depth study to choose the software and, subsequently, the implementation partners. That’s how we selected SAP and Meta IT,” explains Rafaela Coura, Technology Executive Manager at Supera Pharma. The company opted for SAP S/4HANA with the cloud-based RISE solution. “One of our primary needs was improved security. With RISE, we benefit from cutting-edge technology, enhanced security, and the flexibility to scale quickly without investing in our internal infrastructure,” Coura adds. According to Alexandre, the company is now future-ready. “We’ve gained robustness and security to drive Supera Pharma’s progress. We will continue to evolve, staying true to our mission of providing a diverse range of medications to more doctors and patients, delivering health solutions and transforming lives,” he concludes.

The key to success: Organizational Change Management

Unlike many companies, Supera Pharma recognized the importance of preparing for future expansion while its processes were stable and mature. “Our processes were well-established, and we understood it was the ideal time,” recalls Rafaela. Despite this favorable scenario, adopting the SAP system posed significant challenges. “We had a very tight deadline and the goal of ensuring the project didn’t disrupt billing, legal or fiscal activities, or commitments to our employees, clients, or partners. And we succeeded,” she emphasizes.

In addition to the implementation project, Meta IT provided Organizational Change Management (OCM), a crucial element in ERP implementation projects. “OCM starts even before implementation, supporting the client’s HR and communication teams to ensure employee engagement, which is critical for successful implementation,” explains Janaína Sombrio, Business Manager at Meta IT. Rafaela reinforces the importance of this support: “No system configures itself. Meta IT’s key differentiator is its professionals’ ability to understand the business and configure the system to meet our needs.”

Meta IT’s team included over 30 professionals, ranging from managers to specialized consultants in both change management and development. “These professionals collaborated with Supera Pharma employees from the kickoff, creating the project’s internal communication identity, all the way to the go-live phase. Through OCM, the changes brought by a new ERP system were effectively managed across the entire company,” adds Janaína.
